Welcome

Welcome to the web page of Medieval Irish and Celtic Studies at NUIM.  This subject is offered under the auspices of the School of Celtic Studies and below you will find information not only about staff and undergraduate or postgraduate programmes but also about publications.

Medieval Irish and Celtic Studies is offered as one of the subjects of the BA undergraduate programme.  This course explores in some detail various aspects of early Irish literature and society as well as the origins and expansion of the Celts. A number of the modules on offer are taken by a growing number of Erasmus and other international students on studying at NUIM for one or two semesters.

The postgraduate section offers a taught M.A. programme as well as M.Litt. or Ph.D. programmes based primarily on research. There are currently a number of postgraduate students involved in a range of research projects under Professor McCone’s supervision.
